Hmmm, what am I going to blog about? I hope you weren't expecting daily blogs about photography. Ha. Seriously, although I love to obsess over lenses and talk shop, I can't see me blogging about it every day. The fact that I have no idea who, if anyone, is reading this might have something to do with that.
Maybe. I've decided that I'll just blog about whatever the hell is on my mind and if you can relate.......whoa nelly, you might not want to admit that to anyone. :)
Why the title of this blog? A little insight into how my brain works......if you can call this working. I like to call it hyper focusing. I had to sit back and think for a minute to trace back what brought me to the subject of the real Bonnie & Clyde. Wasn't sure I was going to be able to trace it all the way back as I usually don't care how I get to where I am.......I just enjoy the ride and take it as it comes.
It was Blockbuster Online. Ah. That was it. I used to have Netflix and I loved it. However, when Blockbuster started to pick up the pace with the turnaround time, combined with their policy of letting you return a mailed selection for a free rental at one of their locations.......well, I had to convert. Who cares? I'll tell you who cares? Me. Onward and upward. I logged onto my Blockbuster account to take a look at my "Queue" and to update it. I look thru the "New to DVD" selections and see one of my all time favorite movies. You guessed it, Bonnie & Clyde.
I space out and think to myself, again, just how much I love this movie and admire Warren Beatty for getting it made. It's a classic. I've seen it a hundred times since I was a kid. The ending never gets old to me. I think it's one of the all time most brilliant movie endings.......ever. No, I'm not a fan of violence (I don't think.....). Although I hear that it was considered very violent when it came out ('67)it's really not gory at all. It's simply the impact it has and how it was so beautifully choreographed. Nobody has ever been shot and killed like Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway in Bonnie & Clyde. Also, no matter how many times I've seen this movie, the ending is always shocking. Yes, you know it's coming but the way it's done........you always have to stay where you are if you catch this movie on, just to see that ending......again. It's that good.
Well, this led me on to a ridiculous google search for images of Bonnie Parker. I don't know why and I'm not sure I care why. That's just the way I am. I take off on a tangent and I'm fascinated. Luckily in this case it only lasted for an hour or so but I had a strange feeling of deja vu like I had already been obsessed and google happy on this very subject already. Didn't matter, I was off and I was having fun.
Came across many photos and one that led me to this pretty interesting site ......http://texashideout.tripod.com/bc.htm
Yes, I realize that the real people depicted in the movie were most likely the biggest dirtbags and totally undeserving of a movie that really does glorify them. So sue me, I can't help it and neither can you. WB and FD make these two losers look so damn cool and make you almost like them and I'm going to blame it on them. Anywho, I exhaust my eyes with this website and then I stop. I can't even remember what distracted me or if it was just that I had explored all the links on this site and felt satisfied. All I know is it was one weird ass diversion on my Friday morning but certainly not one that was out of character for me. Hell, it's just one puny detail that will run thru my mind on this fine and sunny Friday.
So, what did you do this morning?
